Sulphur hexafluoride (SF₆) is used widely in the fields of electrical appliances, including circuit breaker, high voltage switch, transformer, gas insulated capacitor, high voltage transmission cable, mutual inductor due to its good insulating properties, as well as the metal smelting, aeronautics and aviation, medical apparatus, and the electronic grade of SF₆ is well suited for the etching process of IC industry.
